Endicott Research Group (Endicott, NY) is offering a family of AC-DC inverters for powering CCFL-backlit LCDs that are fabricated via a vacuum-encapsulation design that reportedly ensures lamp ignition in harsh environments while resisting shock, vibration and humidity. The company E200II and SE/SE2 Series inverters operate at approximately 80 to 85% efficiency, and offer customized magnetics that minimize EMI and RFI interference. The 0.6-in.-tall E200I can power one or two CCFLs with up to 8W of output power,l whereas the low-profile (0.42 in. tall) SE Series provides up to 5W of output power for CCFL backlights (the SE2 Series powers two-lamp configurations.
