LG Philips Displays has announced it will cease CRT tube production at its Durham, England facility in July 2005. Price erosions and a demand shift from Europe to Asia Pacific are reasons that led to the decision, the company reports. The plant closing will eliminate 761 jobs. The facility experienced a 30% drop in prices in the last two years.
